Re: Re-building bottom end on an EF XR6 for a Powerdyne Supercharger
Pistons would be o/k but check compression height. You need dish pistons to lower compression..I know what is needed on 330 Windsor..But you have to sit down and work out gasget thickness, chamber size etc..Talk to ACL or a machine shop..About lowering compression atleast under 8.8 to 8.5..imo..
Rods are o/k unless you want to go apesh!t, but transmission etc would need changing first to take power..ARP bolts fitted BEFORE clossing and honeing rods..
ACL seem to have good rings..Just make sure a couple of thou extra in ring gap and piston clearance due to extra heat, power due to turbo engine...
Check bottom end for out of round, clearances..Machine shop will do this for you...
Ballance rotating assembly with flex plate and ballancer..
To run bigger injectors the std eec will need either tuneing or changing to EMS, Haltech etc
Fuel pump depends on your cars Klrs its easier to fit inline Bosch pump, but if the intank is sus then replace it with a 255 walpro...
Injectors from 36 to 55 Lp..Then imo tune with wide band o2 senser...
