No room anywhere under the engine compartment, so we mounted it under the vehicle, about 1 1/2' back from the engine.
The turbo was too big (or so we thought!) as it was off a 2.5L engine, and the slurry is not even a litre. :)
We ran a exhaust pipe from the std manifold on the left hand side, to the right hand side, and almongst other bits and pieces, it is PERFECT!.
Could not have sized it better, no lag, good top end, better on fuel, better driveability, lots better performance, I can't believe I didn't do it earlier!
Hmm. Interesting idea . . . Not too impressed with some of their answers that involve water
"This should not be a problem, because in the conditions that you would find water on the road, you can't use full boost, since you would only spin the tires"
Yup, Uh-huh, Ok. Just the re-assurance I wanted.
Cracking yea?? But they can get water on then on the front too.. Alot of trucks have them 1/2 out of engine compartment too on cab overs.....On that Chevy system they need an electric oil pump to return oil to sump also...

Yeah cracking.
You ever thrown a 1-400 degree c object (eg glass bottle/etc) into a tub of water? Assuming its capable of withstanding that (unlikely) think of what could happen to a turbo with rapid changes in temperature (and hence size) to the exhaust housing.
