Does anyone know any one with a used supercharger to suit an e series falcon 5.0L? do capa trade in used kits and resell them? i want to put a blower on my xr8 but the $6500 starting price (or $8000 for the vortech i want) is a little out of reach esp. after i rebuild the motor and budget for tuning etc.
what would be the difference between one of the capa kits and one for a mustang? would the blower still mount on the same side? im prepared to sort out some plumbing and tuning changes so they are not a major concern. does anyone have any idea the extra costs associated with importing parts from USA ie dutys taxes etc? Thanks for your help ebxr8240 i cant believe how many there are to choose from!
dont you have to pay tax or anything? if not for 2nd hand gear what about new? im looking at buying some bits and pieces from www.summitracing.com (awesome site btw) maybe even getting the blower kit from them aswell, with the oz dollar as good as it is the stuffs so cheap im just wondering what extra costs ill be up for.
ah lucky you - youve got someone on the inside lol. it will prolly be harder to send several thousand dollars worth of parts direct from a speed shop disguised as a gift.
What about Australian emissions standards. Do you need to get the car tested?
Yes but that goes with other things like rims etc ...
If its tuned correctly it will pass in most cases...
Centrifical have less issues with emissions for some reason...

Has anyone actually fitted a mustang based blower to an aussie variant? I'm trying to figure out exactly what's different. I'd prefer to make it fit the aussie engine bay rather than swapping over upper inlet and replicating LHD setup.
