youll have to spend alot of money to get a i6 to go like SIKSIX car i know the guy that did it all for him too he's spent over $90,000 on that ef xr6 and he had to swap superchargers and compuiters and all sorts of bullshit to get it down top the times hes pulling now.
youd be better of just buying an eb or ed 5 litre and spending $6000 on that motor and then youll get good 1/4 mile times straight away without too much stuffing around

not really the case

i am spending 9500 on my ea motor at the moment and its being designed to put out 700+ hp aht the flywheel

the i6 is a strong engine fords generally have always had strong motors.

i my self am using acl race series pistons and good rod bolts with shot peened rods and a balanced crank and thats about it for the botom end and really thats all you need for them up untill 750hp

keep boring to a minimum and the block should be fine as well

the most important part is to have it properly tuned and run a really good intercooling set up

cheers.joe.

Joe, what are you running to get 700 hp out of an ea motor? i didnt think that sort of power level would be achievable - 500 Kw? Thats pretty impressive.

i have a thread elsewere on the forums have a look at the link below: (as i dont want to take over this thread with my crap)

update on project.

jaurez:
a good way to go about it all is to to the following:
use a ef 4.0lt engine as ef castings are reguared as one of the best and the 12 couterweight crank helps out in the tourqe and strength departments.

as for pistons use ea 20 thou oversize pistons as the 4.0lt block is 17 tho larger than the ea ones so if you use ea 20 thou over you only need to bore the engine 3 thou (infact dont bore just hone the 3 thou out)

rods: ef or newer are the best to use and all thats needed is to shot peen them (do not linish as it comprmises there strength)
and use the best rod bolts you can find

crank:cranks only need to be balanced and ground in aplications up to 750hp

tunnel bore the block if needed

deck the head just enuf to get it dead flat and to the head as well

and on the subject ohf cylinder heads always use the latest posible

use a high volume oil pump

also a custom plenum of around 6.0lt is a good idea

if ur supercharging run primays that come out from the head a minimum of 50 mm before it bends back down on the extractors as you want to have good exhaust flow out of head

but if turbcharging u want to run primarys the same size as the head ports to keep exhaust flow as fast as posible

as for exhaust do not run smaller than 3 inches in supercharged form and 3.5 in turb form is ideal

thats all i can think of for now but if theres anything else just ask

cheers.joe.

With the write setup in a EB 4L you can get 200rwkw.

Take this setup for example.

4L EB XR6, factory ecu running unichip, 3.9LSD, 4SPEED auto with shift kit and 2500RPM stall convertor, EL INTAKE Manifold, front mount intercooler, 2.5-3inch exhaust, cat and muffler, POWERDYNE 9 P.S.I BLOWER.

This should be good for 200-210rwkw.

1/4 time estimate 12.9-13.0@104mph.

60ft time of 1.8-1.9

Then add 75-100hp NOS.

250+rwkw time 11.9-12.5@115mph.

Around $10.000+ allup with tuning.

Sorry to dig up a really old post but I was doing a search on Autosalon and this came up.....

SIKSIX is my ex-girlfriend's ex-boyfriend (hope that didn't confuse anyone)? Anyway, it's true he's spent over $100,000 on that car, it's been through 3 superchargers to get it how it is now. I think my ex-g/f said it runs 12.something 1/4 mile. I've forgotten how much boost etc it was running, I think he said 9 pounds, but he was getting an intercooler to boost it up more. He took the SIKSIX plates off it ages ago though and now just gets around with normal plates (he only had them on for Autosalon). Anyway does anyone have a picture of his car from Autosalon, I wanna see the wheels he had on it. They were white powdercoated 19's. Cheers.

Re: Straight six supercharged potential?

In a recent mag( it think it was zoom) there's a supercharged six putin out 400kw's.
Thats if it wasn't just a dream i had once, i'm pretty sure it's fact though.
Dunno any facts about it but as i didn't read the article, just flicked through the mag in the shop.
