I am looking at getting a complete capa vortech kit when I get my EL XR6 but I need to know if anything else is required. How will the standard internals and manual gearbox hold up? Does anyone know how much boost the kit runs standard? Also any pictures of this setup would be great.
Standard Vortech kit runs 9-10psi of boost and has everything nneded for the installation. For relaibility and best power you may want to look at running larger 36-42lb injectors with an aftermarket computer if you have the money, otherwise the CAPA kit uses a rising rate regulator to push the stock injectors and a reprogrammed chip to control fuel and ignition. Standard internals and gearbox should be fine as long as don't be too rough with it.

Don't know exactly what rating the BA injectors are, I think around 24lb which would be okay if you use a FMU. Using an FMU means you run fairly rich but safe up high, my car ran around 11:1 AF at WOT with the FMU.
If you can afford to go for larger injcetors and aftermarket engine management that will give you more power, drivability and economy. The CAPA chip I was running with my blower did not work too well with the other mods I had done so I went for an aftermarket system and while I was at it got a set of 42lb injectors and ditched the FMU.

Here they are over $100 each....
Can buy maf and injectors?? If you have a six then sell maf and re-coupe most of ya money ????
