Hi guys
ive got an oppurtunity to buy a second hand turbo and manifold for my car, the turbo is a Air Research T04 with .60 AR i think, it needs a set of new bearings but other than that its ok... just wondering on your thoughts on this turbo and whether it is suitable for a low boost applications for my 4L I6, the turbo is off a 250 crossflow....any advice would be good,

Seems to be the one to go with, would also be suitable for a bit more than low boost on the 4.0.
Just make sure it doesnt need more than a quick reco, i bought one in similar circumstances, needed new bearings, anyway took it to GCG turbochargers and they said its rooted, but we can fix it if you give us $1300. Needless to say i got another t04 and now have an expensive paper weight in my cupboard.
If you can get a manifold to suit the 4.0, well done, usually above $800 to get one made. If its a manifold for a 250 then no doubt you'll find a buyer quick smart.
Good luck with the buy but just be sure the turbo isnt screwed.

im planing to use the manifold... is it possible to cut the flanges off that suit the 250 crossflow head and weld the manifold pipes up to a new 4L OHC exaust flange?

Might not be the best idea, will probably make it weak. Especially if its one of the cast manifolds. You could sell the manifold alone for about 250-300. Better to just get one made
