Hello all

have come across a 2nd hand T04E holset turbocharger, have emailed the bloke asking for some specs. Just wondering what kind of turbo specs i should be looking for to suit my EL six?

I have been looking at a gt3540 as used to some stupidly great success by members on the forums but this thing is cheap and comes with a gate too.

Sounds good if it comes with a wastegate. How big is the gate though?

I think youd want intake A/R to be 0.6 or 0.7
Exhaust should be above 1.00 even 1.3 should still be useable (those 4.0s are big!)

Im not sure just how far outside of that range you can go.

Yea depends on trim and size of compressor???
Ask some more questions like numbers etc on it..
Holset DON'T usually release/ advertise A.R figures...
Pics etc..

Ummm ??? Is it $1000 at a shop nr Bankstown, starting with G ????

I emailed them asking trim and size of compressor, am waiting a response.

What about something like this?

Garrett T04E with oil cooled core
Comp: 50 trim wheel with .50 AR housing
Exhaust: 76 trim P turbine with 1.75 AR housing. Heaps of different housings are available for this turbo if you want to change it.

The holset was too big for what I wanted...

1.75 AR ??? Check that?? Or you mean .75?

.75 comp and 1.06 works well on sohc's...

Im trying to find something suitable near new....If i want this blown thing to happen, I cant afford to spend the $2700 on a new GT3540 and gate. It doesnt leave much for intercooler, piping, bov, injectors, ecu etc etc.
