EA Turbo Clone

Just wondering how much boost other people are running with LPG, and what sort of ignition/coil combinations they are using. I am running a Haltech IG5 with a Accel super coil, and i cant get enough spark voltage to fire over 13psi.

I have twin converters, lines etc. through a gas research setup.

Get yourself a MSD if you're after big boost, what type plugs are you running and what's the gap set at?

Iridium plugs, 0.8mm gap, i am under the belief that an msd is not suitable for running on LPG vehicles especially turbo'd due to the multi sparking action. Besides isn't there now better units than MSD out now, like the crane HI-6?

I haven't seen any problems with the MSD as it works well for turbo charged cars, a friend of mine uses a MSD 6AL on his VL running 35psi! I haven't had anything to do with the Crane HI-6 so i can't comment on it.

The main reason i post this question is that as you would gather i want to increase boost, but only to 15psi, I would have thought that a good coil, leads and plugs would be more than sufficient for running at 15psi on gas.

you would think so, throw a set of colder plugs in with about a 0.7 gap.

GAS-250 is running 25psi on LPG and I dont think he has a fancy ignition setup, just a different coil he picked up somewhere.
It might pay to ask him.

Well i fixed the problem, i put an accel 300plus super coil on there, has made an emormous improvement in power. I found that the other accel coil was actually faulty and thus why i was having this problem.

yep going to 15psi now and will see what happens from there, i don't think i will get much more out of my turbo than that but we will see.
