Water Injection

Hey guys,

I am turboing my car soon as i get all the bits together. Just looking at water injection. A mate can get parts cheap but has to have the serial numbers etc. Can anyone tell me the serial or part number of the injector that is used.

thanks heaps.

Re: Water Injection

ebxr8240 is right. Ask around the people who have done it cheap.

If you want a bit more flashy set-up, go to your local nitrous supplier, buy a fogger (like $18), jets (like $8), and set it up that way. You can change jet sizes then to suit better. Tap a thread before or after the t/b (personal preference) and aim

Washer bottle with either pressure pump, or pressurize the bottle.

Heaps of options.

Re: Water Injection

YOu could also just run an injector or two in the manifold to get extra fuel to the motor (think all up its no more than $1000 for the injector and computer to control it) and also injecting this fuel will act as a basic form of 'water cooling'.
This way you get the extra fuel AND cool the air down

Re: Water Injection

Extra fuel usually doesn't cool the air charge down. Detonation, sure, add more fuel or less timing but water injection cools things down and reduces det.

Re: Water Injection

ive read injecting it straight after the compressor (non-intercooled) atomises the water better, allows it to mix more evenly and can cool the air a bit more

Re: Water Injection

Some believe the earlier you can get it into the engine the better.

I remember the same debate but with the "extra injector in a VLT", some swore it was better after the t/b, but better mix was accomplished before the t/b.

Mat_971, just read your first post again, why do you want water injection???
Steer clear if you can.... Get a fuel system that will keep the engine happy
