Hey all looking at a new exhuast for my EL I6 as mine is stuffed! I got quoted:

$1070 for extractors, new cat, 2.5 inch mandel brent with one resinator and muffler.

$570 for new cat, stock cat back system

is this reasonable?

can any of you guys recommend me a better and cheaper place?

What brand are they going to use?

I got quoted $400 Pacemaker extractors, $300 new 2.5" hi-flow cat (but i got it for 200), 2.5" cat back system $230, but i needed another muffler (add $120).

All in mild steel.

p.s. check your insurance aswell, u should be right, but some places will have a fit.

Don't touch the resonator! They're a waste of money. It takes 5% of your fuel economy...not really a bright idea! I found out the hard way years ago after the jerks at Genie said the whole system would be more fuel efficient if driven properly, extractor's mandrel bent, polished stainless steel etc.

When you take the damn resonator off like I did their is a noticeable (better) difference in fuel use, without the hassle of a fine from Plod. And I got sick and tired of the constant drone at country speeds as well.

And Pacemaker do the best extractor's by the way.
