Have a 351 F100 fairly worked (about 430 hp at the fly) very lumpy 4100 peak power stops rev 6700 floats wondering would a To4z be big enough as a single turbo?

Re: will this turbo fit 351????

I was out talking to Mike Vine a few years ago when the T04Z first came out. He is a very experienced turbo builder in Brisbane. he was telling me how they had fitted the T04Z to a 351 Clevo and he couldn;t stop raving about how awesome the throttle response was and how well matched the turbo was for a daily driven street car but still pumping out 700 odd flywheel horsepower. Awesome midrange torque and drivability.

I suspect you may have to revise your engine a bit though, I.e decompression if you have a 430 horsepower atmo engine already.

You might need to make sure your gearbox is up to the mountains of torque. The F100 is a heavy car a probably going to get good traction.

You may need to change cam for better results...Not too much overlap, with LSA 112 or higher... Though with high-sh comp an N/A cam does help bleed down some dynamic compression...The T04Z, 800 h.p or consider the GT4088 650 h.p.. The box will only take 500 odd h.p anyway with 800nm odd torque....

Re: will this turbo fit 351????

Yeah I agree the camshaft is a good upgrade.

C4 gearboxes are good for a lot more than 500 hp though. I have one which is taking abuse from a 700hp, 1100Nm turbo 250 crossflow six and it is not slipping yet. Got six clutches in the high reverse and 5 in the direct drum and a transbrake manualised valve body with 200 psi line pressure.

Main things you have to do is make sure you have a 300M input shaft, stock ones are weak and hytuf shafts will break around 1000Nm. A four or six pinion chromoly forward planetary set is required also.

Over 3,500 Lb the C4 with abuse is alittle weak...
BUT if daily driver it will do fine....
Besides with F series there are tougher options...
But I wouldn't worry until you get there...
