Hey guys,

does anyone have any cheap and easy power mods for the xr6t....cos i just picked up my ute.

Maybe try removing the centre muffler and fit a high flow filter. Zoom magazine reported a good power gain by removing the muffler without too much extra noise.

Best gain u can get is by adding a unichip piggyback ECU, cost's are a little over a thousand (dont quote me i forget!?!) it leans out the fuel mixture and alters the timing etc... expect around 300kw @ the flyheel, i read bout it in motor mag, let us kno how u go, lucky bastard!, cheers :)

put in a boost controller and wind up the boost to around 10 psi, seeing as the XR6T's are already running rich, you should be able to pull this off without running your engine lean. Best thing to do would be if you have a dyno around, play with the boost on that, then you can find out howe much boost is available wilst keeping it rich enough to be friendly to the engine. Only thing is I am not too sure how the bottom ends are constucted in the new XR6T's so I would ask some questions about how the standard engine would handle 10 or more psi boost, but at around 10 psi, expect to see around 280-300 KW's at the fly. Also a nice big exhaust 2 1/2" or 3" for a turbo'd car would be the go. By the way, does anyone have any idea if the XR6T DOHC heads will fit on an EB/ED block?

Boost controlers don't work on there own on these engines..There needs to be some ecu tuning around some Ford safety guards...

Buy the latest street machine. There is a nice little article on xr6t engines. $5660 gets you up to 330KW at the fly. They also have 400kw + packages on the way.

Definetly but the latest street machine mag, a very good read, 570 hp @ the flywheel is definetly havin a dip! :s6:
