The function selector lever does not direct the air as required. When I on any function the air blows out of the defost vents below the front window. When I'm on AC the cold air blows out of these defost vents. If I'm on heat or cool the air blows out of the defroster vents. The mechanical movement on the control appears to be OK. There are five wires Red, Black, White, Yellow and Blue coming out of the side of the unit that the lever connects to. The unit also has additional terminals that have no wires going to. I was wondering if some wires got disconnected but I don't see any lying there. I have checked every fuse in the box by the steering column but not in the power distribution box in the motor compartment. Any suggestions what to try next.

Problem found. The wires I referred to are vacuum lines. Them main one had a hole in it.
