Hey, i'm trying to replace the shifter knob for my 2003 ford ranger. Its a manual transmission. Does anyone know a good way to get it off because i'm having a lot of trouble. Thanks.

there is a screw on the back/side of the shifter that is hidden under the vinyl. you will need a small allen wrrench to remove it. You need to have this off prior to unscrewing it.

Hey, i removed the vinyl, but i don't see any set screw anywhere near the shift knob. Is it hidden somewhere or do i need to remove something else to get to it? thanks.

Sorry did not see the year listed. Yours is actually not set with a set screw. You can remove it on the newer models with just a good twist and yank. You will find it near impossible to reinstall properly. So if you are replacing the knob then you dont have to worry, but if you are not then you have been warned.
