Hi guys

Worrying question

My Air bag warning light on my ef dash lit up today. I was a bit worried that it was going to deploy driving down the highway!!

When i got home, I checked the fuse (applied the KISS Principle) and it was blown, so i replaced it, now when i turn the car back on (engine running) the following happens:

Air bag warning light flashes 5 times
small break
air bag warning light flashes 2 times
small break (but longer than the other one).

Then it starts over again.

What am i supposed to do now?

Should i disconnect the battery overnight to reset or what?

There is a fault within the airbag and/or its sensing system...the flashing sequence of lights is an error code of some sort. As far as i know the fuse blows in the system when it senses a fault as a precaution to avoid any un-necessary deployment occuring..

Somebody can post the fault codes for the airbag system perhaps?

B4 you replaced the fuse code 12 would have flashed & then the light stayed on, after replacing the fuse code 52 will flash. This is normal,what you need to do is use a jump wire & go to the diagnostic connector & locate the 4th pin top row from left. switch ign on wait for code to flash then ground the pin & hold it to ground until you hear 5 beeps then remove jump wire & switch ign off. Switch ign on to confirm code cleared, on occations code 53 may be logged, just repeat procedure.
