Lobes

Hey everyone... second post here after getting my Fairmont Ghia. I have just noticed a problem (?) with the air con....

Basically when the aircon is on, there is a tick tick tick coming from the area near the injectors which is pretty loud although cant be heard in the interior of the car. When you rev the car the tick speeds up with the revs, so I though it must be the injectors or something in the engine. It doesnt effect the aircon though, still works fine and the car runs fine while this tick tick is just ticking away.

When you turn the aircon off this loud tick goes away entirely. So is this just a 'feature'? I have put some injector cleaner in the fuel and am waiting to see if this makes a difference but I would have thought that if the injectors were dirty it would have ticked all the time like this, not just when the aircon is on.

Anyone have any ideas???

Check the CANP, Cannister purge valve, is suspended in mid air by the rubber hoses connected to it as it is meant to and is not making contact with teh body or frame. This valve ticks and the sound will carry it the passenger side of the vehicle if it touches any body part.
