Hi i have an el and the air conditioning doesn't work, it turns on, it has gas in it but cold air doesn't come out, it sounds like somethings is leaking under the dash on the passenger side, any ideas?

Make sure the leaking you're hearing isn't the recirculating fan which sits under there (i.e: make sure you have your setting on outside air..) then check for the noise again..

Sounds like the compressor may have bit the bullet, thats to say you don't have a gas leak somewhere..

is there any way to test the compresor? what are they worth?

hmm, well i recently got my air con fixed cos the seals were ratsh!t and it was long out of gas, and that was $400 or something i think. then i thought it was broken one day when i kept upping the fan speed but no matter what i did no air whatsoever came out of the vents, but i discovered it was set to windshield demister for some reason
