Hi, new to the forum. Posted this earlier in the Explorer section, but thought maybe it should be here instead.

I've got a 2000 Explorer which gets horrible AM radio reception. The FM is fine, but even the closest AM station doesn't come in clearly. Is this a known problem with this year or model? Or is there an easier fix I should look for?

this is as much a question as an answer.

does your car have an exterior radio aerial or is it built into the windows.??

if it is the window mounted type that is used on a lot of the newer model cars now , and you have metal based window tint , this can effect the AM radio reception badly.
