My EF fairmonts climate control system is completly stuffing up. No hot air or A/C works, mode button won't work. fan speed up button works 60% of time. but the most importantly.... is the ambient temperature! (i thought i'd start small) the ambient temp always reads 20 degrees. I've been reading up and apparently that means there is a connection problem between the sensor and the C/C modual. Also the sensor is meant to be mounted close the the air intake? is this the air intake for the engine (snorkle) or elsewhere?
Would someone be albe to explain to me (or better yet show with a pic) where the air temp sensor is?
this would be a great help!
Usually its the sunload sensor that is in the center of the dash while the external ambient temp sensor is in the front grill (in front of the radiator) next to the receiver dryer bottle. Hope you haven't pulled the dash yet.
I may be wrong, but i think thats the "solar" sensor that measures the effect of the sun on the car.
The ambient temp sensor is in the front of the bonnet, in front of the radiator, near the air bottle.

ok i'm a little lost...is it near the little plastic cover that goes over the hood release and air bag sensor? because i can't see anything in the front grill apart from a front grill.. and whats a receiver dryer bottle??
sorry..
The bottle thing at the front, as pipes in and out of it, is the receiver dryer bottle, the big thing like a radiator is the condensor, the thing you want if like an EA, will be a little thing black in colour, has 2 wires running to it, and the size of little finger (but shorter).
Hope that helps,
Jason

I did put something here, but it vanshied, I think
on the wrecked EF Ghia that i got, it was the same colour as the body (white) and was located under the horn's, (you will need to remove the black cover between the headlights to see it and remove it, it was also on the same wiring connector as the horns so that should make it easy to spot :)
it goes through the centre of the bumper and is about the size that dellboy described.
