Hi,
The rear right door lock actuator on our AU1 Forte is broken. It was just making a rattling sound and not locking, so I pulled the trim off and opened up the actuator. It seems to be a simple device. There is a worm gear driven by a small electric motor, and this has little "rods" which open and close the lock. Well the little rods have broken off - they are actually part of the plastic wormgear.

Is it possible to just buy this part, or do I have to get a whole new actuator? Maybe a wrecker is the best bet?

Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere, but my searching didn't find this specific problem.

I just replaced 5 on my 2000 Excursion.
On those, I had to buy the whole thing...$63/ea from the dealer and $30-$50 on various places on-line. Probably safer getting the part from the dealer. The ones I bought on-line have already gone out. Good luck.
