Hey guys, has anyone got any info on the AU fuel sender. I think the sender is stuffed because the gauge always reads empty, 0kms till empty.

Theres the 4-wire connector to the sender in the boot, what wires do i check and how?

according to a Gregorys workshop manual for the AU,1998 to 2002, the sender has 2 wires, in one model or Low series,( Low and High depending on dash instument type), the colours are YW and BX.
in the other or 'High' series with the 4 gauges and gear shift for auto pattern in cluster, these colours are YG and BG.
I dont have a colour chart so guess Y=Yellow, G=green, B= black and X??? god knows !!!!
Could the other 2 wires go to the fuel pump? BY and B. in this diagram the B goes to the body shell.
NOTE that the fuel pump wires go to the ECU device and the sender to a 'Microcomputer for the Instruments' so be bloody carefull before doing ANYTHING that will cost more to replace than an auto electrician would charge to fix the sender problem.
I dont place a lot of faith in the manual as I have found variances to what it shows and what and where it actually is in the car.
