g,day just a quick question. but can you use a auto down switch on the passenger side.

is that a au ?? if so not to sure aint seen the switch the pre au u cant i would say it can't be done easly
but if u wanted it bad 99 and up bmw's 5 ser have a window control unit witch can give u auto up and down on all 4 windows bit of wirring and moding of switchs is involved

yeah its a au. and no i dont want it that bad that i would get a bmw series 5 control unit. i was just wondering if it was the actual auto switch that made that window go up auto or if it was a control unit that did it????

yeah the control is on the back side of the switch it has a solnoide that holds the switch down till the windows gets to the bottom then it lets go ( it sense load on the motor to turn it off )

If its an EL it sometimes lets go.... bloody switches sticks sometimes, especially if its hot in the car. Usually when you realise the motor has already shut down on overload and you have to wait for it to reset.
At the price Ford want for a new switch assembly, I'm looking for other fixes!

I think its not a bad idea, as it is a very useful feature if you're lazy like me. The only problem would be it would cost you a hell of a lot in parts, as you cant actually buy just the switch on its own, and seeing as the one you want is on the drivers side, youd need to buy the 4 panel one just to use 1 swith from it.

So unless you're made of money or could source the parts from a wrecker, i dont think its be worth the cost involved.

its not that i am lazy. (i dont seat in the passenger seat very often) its more for my wife. she gets stropy when she cant wind her window down quick. i dont think getting parts is a problem. lots of au wrecks around.
point taken if i cant get one from a wrecker. i wouldnt think FORD would sell them by themselves.

Yeah, unfortunately Ford have a habit of ruining all my plans for modifications cos they wont sell me the bits i need, or they will but ill get 10 other things with it i dont want.

Let me know if you go ahead with it as i would be very interested in the results.
