Falcon SXR8

I was stuffing around today putting in the cables for my stereo and when I went to pull off the kick panel on the drivers side i noticed a small on off switch. It was in the on position so I thought it might be like a kill switch so I turned it off the car still started so i took the panel off and the switch was not hooked up and there was 2 wires hanging next to it. so I hooked them up a red and a black but still it did nothing also I noticed another black wire hanging there not hooked up. Also there is this black box there with a red light in it and a flat head screw adjustment with sensitivity writen above it.

Whats it all for I have no Idea also the red light does not flash or stay on
so it has me stumped

That black box hooks into the car alarm if it still has one.If someone breaks a window or knocks the car, etc trys to tow away etc it will set the alarm off. If you set it too fine a very mild wind will set it off, you have to experiment to see where its best for you.
