hey guys
i know there is alot of topics on the blue LED mod
but i have a different question
I have sorced the Wedge LED's from NARVA, that fit straight into the back of the speedo
Are the lights for the center console gear lights and Eletric window lights, the same size bulb?
Or will i need diferent sized LED's?
Cause for my AU
i think its 6 LED's for the speedo
1 LED for the center console
7 LED's for eletric windows (front and back)
Also i have the RED needle, and i have heard this doesnt show up when you put blue LED's behind
Has any one gotten around this?
Is it possible to place a red LED behind the needle?
ALSO note to falkeen: my mate bought your old AU lol
small world.
The bulbs for the power window controls are 2 or 3mm globes. The bulbs for the centre console (auto gear selector surround) is a 10mm bulb. The bulbs for the heater control panels are a mixture of 3 and 5mm ones - the 3mm ones are the wedge style, the 5mm ones are soldered to the circuit board.
If the LEDs are REALLY bright, you will be able to see the needles no worries at all - otherwise, on both the AU1 and AU2 you can use a red LED in just one of the bulbs (the centre one) and it will light the needles up really well - only trade off is you get a bit of purple in the blue of your speedo display.
At around $10 a pop for the NARVA LEDs, it is much cheaper to do it yourself - they work out between $4 and $6 each, depending on site and brightness. Or if you don't want to do it yourself, you could do it the BlueAU way! lol.

Ummmmmm, not sure of the size but i know the part numbers for them were listed on here a while back. Ill just go and get one now and take a pic of it for ya.
here it is, stuck a ruler near it so you can see how big it is. The reason they wont fit an EF is cos they're too wide to fit in the holder, but you can pull the white part off it and have it just like a normal LED (but then the actual head of it is still too big)
Yes but do they fit Kerry? Those ones above wouldnt fit into my TC, theyre nice and bright though, so if i could get something similar but smaller, i reckon they'd be the go.
the narva led shown above is the wrong one, i ordered a box of ten direct from Narva (alot cheaper than $10 ea) and they fit perfectly. i will get the part number from down the shed if anyone is interested.
