XA Fairmont

Gday i have a billet sterring wheel on my XA GS which is using an Autotechina boss kit. Problem is the boss kit is the right one for an XA 100% sure but the horn dosent work since its been put on. I had a mechinaic look at it when my car got serviced and he said the rings on the boss kit were in the wrong spot for the horn to work. Does this make sence to anyone? What brand boss kits have people used on there XA's.

I have an auto-technica boos kit on my EA i believe, and the horn works fine. make sure the contacts arent dirt and the allen key bolts and properly tightened.

Thats the problem ive cleaned up the rings and tightened the allen keys bolts but it still dosent work. I measured the rings on the original wheel and the ones on the boss kit, the ones on the boss kit are 2 mm out this is why the horn isnt working. What do i do now?

I've had probs with the autotechnica boss kits before, and with formuling boss kits... They were never quite right.... Never had a problem with the momo boss kit. Indicators cancel properly with the momo boss kit as well!!! Try a momo boss, as I'm pretty sure they will take the autotechnica wheel.

You could also try a different horn button... yours might be defective...

a defective horn button will do the same thing, make sure its earthing properly too, otherwise do as EBXR said and whack on a momo kit.

nah mate dont waste your money on buying another boss kit. I had this problem on a TX5 Telstar i used to own. The guys at autobarn gave me a laser kit instead of a telstar kit. Just get out an angle grinder and grind the necessary amount off the pins that touch the rings. The bit grinded off should now allow the pin to hit the ring because it isnt being restricted by the size of the pin. If that makes sense.
