A/C Compressor... can you fix the bearing?

I have a noisy compressor in my EB I 3.9MPFI, taken the belt off it and when you spin the pulley you can hear what sounds like a dry bearing.

When it's all connected and switched on, its a lot quieter, but as soon as the compressor goes off and the clutch disengages, its noisy again.

Can this part be taken off without disturbing the rest of the compressor??

it can be replaced, but its a lot easier to take the compressor off and do it in a vice !! means youll need a regas too
