Can somebody help me? I own Ford Escord 1.9 1996. After I had started the car when I shifted into reverse it just suddenly turned off. Then it would not start again. It turns the engine but won’t start. I had to leave it till the next day and it starts. I can shift into 1st gear but not into reverse because problem will occur again.

Are you saying EVERYTIME you go into reverse gear , with the engine running , the engine cuts out and wont start again till next day ?

Try cleaning the Idle Air Control Valve and throttle body .

Today situation changed. Car won't start at all, even after one day as used to.
When I turn the key into ignition position the lights on dash board won’t go up and I can hear a tick. It turns the engine but won’t start. Lights flash, radio plays, brake light, horn and also wiper is working fine. However turn signal doesn't functioning. Any idea?

Sounds like a connection problem somewhere. Check all of the grounds and power.

Could also be faulty ignition switch . Does that car , even though it's a manual , not have a safety switch attached to the clutch pedal ?
