Re: Central locking into my XF

I put aftermarket central locking in my XF no problems, only thing I found was that I had the rear units work in reverse as the best mounting point was along the top of the door, but otherwise was a job worth the effort.

I did put something here, but it vanshied, I think

Re: Central locking into my XF

Have done the remote central locking kit to my XF and found it rather easy, but I have only done the front doors so far. If you have a mate with a ZL fairlane, take the rear door skins off to see how they are mounted from factory.

Re: Central locking into my XF

Any brand will do as long as it aint an el cheapo! If you get it professionally installed, it shouldn't cost too much and will be done in a few hours at the max.

If you keep breaking door handles, it sounds like it's time to change the door mechanism (where all the rods connect to). I did the 2 front doors myself and it cost me $100, but that's from a dealer who's a major rip off. took me an hour to do both doors and havn't had any problems with the handles for ages.
