I tried the blue silicon sleeves on my 88 Spak, but unfortunately, the main dash with the speedo rev counter etc...the dials are already a kind of yellow/orangy colour, so it didnt work too well. Although, my dash lights were never very bright to start with, so I am wanting to know if I put larger brighter globes in, will this work?
Another thing....I tried putting a standard LED across the globe connection, and the damn thing flashes??? what the hell is up here? Its a bog standard LED, it shouldn't flash, the globes dont...any ideas???

The blue globe sleeve looks SWEET on the cigarette lighter backlight

and not too bad behind the air controls, just a little dim.

I wan2 do the same, I reckon orange is CRAP.

The Sony Scorcher EA Coupe had a white instrument cluster, i like that idea, but it must cost $$$$.

Anyone know a cheap effective way of changing the dash colour?

David, i think you may have your Cluster lighting on Dim, soz they are pretty bright.

Got no idea why ur LED Flashes other than the fact that it could be a flashing LED, whats the voltage of the LED, I had done the whole dash in my car done with "high brightness" LED's and need resistors on them cos they blow otherwise

As with the blue on the instrument cluster it wont turn out blue cos of the orange dials, it'll be a shit looken purple colour u can hardly see. I recommend red on the instrument cluster.

I have my dash on the high setting, it just still seems a bit dull.
The LED seems to be a plain one, but i'll double check again.
I'll try red on the dash tomorrow.
How exactly did you fit your high brightness LEDs? and how did you put the resistor in line with it? The bulbs are those ones that sit in plastic moulds and twist on..can you explain how you done it? Im assuming a bit of soldering was required...I'll wait and see what people say then give it a go myself.

There is a website that explains the whole thing, I cant find it right now but i'll post it tomorrow, its in the other thread on dash lights.

Basically you solder a resistor that will bring the voltage down to the current the LED can handle on the longer leg of the LED, what I did with the dash was just solder it onto the bulb holder on the 2 lil flap things on the side.

I'll post the site tomorrow in the morning, it'll explain the whole thing

What I did with the Air con lights was take the bulbs off the bulb holders and put the LED in its place, soldered on the resistor and folded the legs round the holder the same way the bulb was. I also did the demister and rear wiper switches along with everythign else, I've since taken the LED's off the instrument cluster cos dad was complaining he couldnt see the dials, I swear he's goin blind cos they're not that much duller than the normal lights

Not sure whether it would work with an EA but i know a guy who just took out the display plate where all the numbers are, scanned it onto his computer changed all the colours around added a few little pictures then printed it off and stuck it back in the car.
