I think you are going to find that the LCD is set in one colour, ie. When light shines through the LCD, it shows up as green... So I would assume the only way to change the colour is find a after-market mob that makes one in a different colour...
I was just there and had a bit of a read, looks pretty simple, I dont think blue would work on the EA dash's tho, what do you guys reckon?? I'm looken to get an Spack dash soon so if it'd work im game

The Spac Instrument cluster is not the digital one (Spac cluster has speedo, tacko, temp, voltage, oil pressure & fuel). If your car isnt around 89-90 or later, it will be more difficult than you think! I wanted to fit one in mine, and because mine is 88, it doesnt have any of the extra looms for wiring it up. Apparently you only have to run an accessories power wire to the cluster to get it working, but Im not sure what pin, or know anything else about it. Also, you may need a new Oil Pressure Sensor, if your oil light comes on with the new cluster, you will have to change it... Does anybody have like a Gregories manual to the EA? if so, that may have pinouts in it?
Sorry man I meant the colour of the dash, im gettin an S pack cluster and thought if its as easy as that to change the colour of the lights and everything I'd do it, I pulled most of the things out today and it looks even easier than the ef/el, the air-con panel just has 3 globes at the top, the cigerette lighter just has a globe on it (the glass around it is clear) same with the trans selector, and the dash just has the bulbs aswell, I dont think there are any filters on them cos the bulbs put out that orange light.
Also, do you have to take the steering wheel off to get the cluster out?? I had a fair go at trying to get it out and it wouldnt come out

I see no problems with giving this a go with an EA, as you say, the Orange glow is caused by the Bulbs, not by a filter.
I didnt want to say it was possible with an EA, cause I had never tried/seen it done on an EA/EB/ED.
Finally, You can change the Orange LCD colour to RED, by using RED led's, although I tried this on the EF, and on some of the LCD panels, the light didnt come out evenly, and looked bodgy. Dunno How it would look on the EA though
Do you think the colour of the dials on the dash will effect the way it turns out?? the dials on the dash are a yellowy orangey colour, I'd really like to give the blue a go tho, that stuff looks mad

Damn I just worked it all out, I'm gonna need 13 LED's I think to do everything, which means it'll cost me $101.40 Just for the damn LED's if they $7.80 each!!, looks like i'll do Red, only cost me $24
