Hi,

I have dressed-up Fairmont, and after a cruise down Chapel St on saturday nite, ive decided i wanna get them Fog-lookalike lights.. "corner lights".. but i was just wondering whether they fit straight into the bumper. Or would i have to cut away so they fit? I've asked a spare Parts guy at ford on two occassions... one said u have to cut.. another said they fit straight in. Such confusion.

Looking at it from an economic point - you would not expect Ford to have a different bumper for fairmont and fairlane, if in fact they are the same then the lights should fit.
I would talk to your parts man and compare the front bumper part numbers.

Hemm good point.
I believe they'ld fit.. now that u mention it. Got my father to ask for me once.. he must have said it was a falcon.
If anyone can tell me otherwise, that'll be appreciated.

ALSO are theyre any aftermarket actual FOG lights that fit in those slots (or with slight cutting out) that emit a yellow light?

you know those lights on fairlanes dont actually work like fog lamps or anything else... they are stupid :)))) STUPIDDDDDD!!
my mother has a ghia fairlane... only one comes on at a time based on what blinker is on.

I use to want these too. I even looked into what the Pedidtor had or Sequential. but they were over 1grand. I've grown out of these lights. I'd rather have it as vent to the brakes or intake.

i submited a reply already but didn't go through.. so the short of it is.. you know those lights are only turning light. only one comes on when u use the indicator.

Slim.. That aint true.. U can hook em up however way you want them. Im gonna make a switch for it underneath the steering wheel somewhere so it can be permanently on.

But i know what your saying.. They hook em up like how u said, from the factory. Thats pretty S#&*. But they look Unreal. and doesnt make the fairmont EF2 as boring as it is from the front.

hey slim do u know if those globes can be changed to full-on powerful ones?

you can always change your stock headlight globes/spot lights to a higher brightness one or a 'xenon' one.

they go for something like $35 a pair for 55w (stock are 40 or something?.. something in those lines, their brighter)

I can't remember ever seeing fog in Chapel St maybe it was smog LOL
I was thinking more of wireing them through a relay as a wide beam light to illuminate the side of the road at night.
Previous Falcons have run white fog lights (XD XE XF) and these work well in conjunction with good high beams.

Yeah, the cornering lamps fit right in. You cannot change the bulbs on these though, they are 21Watt types, same as reverse lamp lights. The lamps cost about $55 each from a ford dealer, and come with mounting screws, bulb, bulb holder, and socket. The only things that are needed are a Plug (T type connector), and a relay. I have wired mine up as cornering lamps, and also as spot lamps. (I.E. there is a switch to change their operation). They look better as spot lamps, but they are not very bright though
