thought of it while i was bored and thought id ask.
I could see see a few potential problems with color consistancy, and may be a bit difficult to do

I think velour is acrillic? Not to sure wether it will take the colour. I think clothes die is more for cotton etc but I guess it wouldnt be hard to test it out...

Very true, most cloths dies will only dye Cottons.
You can get a spray dye for car interior fabrics.

I used VHT vinyl dye in my last car.
Havent seen a fabric one yet... havent really been looking either.

I think getting the color consitant with a spray may be a bit difficult, ill check it out

I think you would get a better colour consistancy than with a soak type dye.

anyone done dying with the VHT spray? hows the outcome and the long term wear?does it run if you spill stuff on it??

I used VHT vinyle dye in my EF. Had it for 6 months then sold it.

No real problems. Except it was a bit hard getting the dash done consistantly, and i think the sun made it fade a bit.
Only problem area was the window winders, kept coming off.

I used it on the dash, center consol and all the door trims.
Just make sure u pull as much of the stuuf as u can out, then spray it. Doenst come off when oversprayed.
Otherwise follow intructions on can and u should be right
