hey guys, I got a 95 ef fairmont and the cruise decided to stop working, there is no fuse in the fuse panel is there anywhere else I mite b able to hav a look b4 I take it to an auto elec??
I know this sounds dumb, but check the fuse (assuming there is one) - ive been guilty of some pretty dumb stuff like forgetting to check the basics before. Your cruise control module (if its the same as mine) is under your center console; try unscrewing that (only 6 screws in my EB) and lift it up and make sure the plug is still in (it should be cus of the way the plug is); otherwise it MIGHT be your switches - apparently they wear out pretty easily - just like mine have (cept mines the "set" switch), so I gotta find some new switches.
(Dont spose anybody has any floating around they wanna pass on to me at a relatively reasonable cost??)
If the EF is the same as the EL and you find that your CC is not lighting up on the dash cluster and the brake lights are not working either, then you may find the fuse for Stop Lamps is blown. This also has the CC running through it.

ive got a 88 xf ghia, the cruise does not work in it either,i replaced the cc module which is under the trip computer, still does not work? any idea of what it could be? my brake lights all work but my stop lamp lights up when i touch the brake dont no why it does this either?
