I have an AUII Fairmont Ghia and over the last couple of days the fuse dedicated to the cruise control and stop lights has now blown four times.
There's obviously a problem so this time I haven't replaced it.
It seems to fail when the vehicle has been started or turned off.
Recently she who must be obeyed, managed to back over an object and pulled the trailer plug off, the exposed wiring blew some fuses. Can't remember which ones though.
Didn't replace the plug but the wiring was taped up individually then secured. Could this be part of the problem ? Electrically illiterate, so any clues would be of assistance. Thanks.

Probably caused by the trailer plug wiring damage. To be sure, go to the wiring behind the rhs tail light and unplug the loom that goes to the trailer plug. Shouldn't blow fuses then. It will be plugged in if its a factory fitted bar, or spliced into the loom if it was fitted later.
