Dash Change

Just got my hands on an XY ute, problem is that the dash is cactus, been extensively modded and then unmodded if u get my drift, the price of a new GS/GT dash is way to high for my budget at the moment. I just happen to have a complete GS dash out of an XB complete with entire wiring loom.
Does anyone know if this will fit into the XY? How will it look? Would it be a sin?
Any ideas or opinions

Re: Dash Change

Whoa, im not sure that an XB dash will go into an XY without serious mods. For one i think the differences in width would be a problem, along with height, and probably depth (as the XB goes inwards and the XY one is flat)

If you could get it to work it would look different... but im very partial to the xy dash's.

Re: Dash Change

stick with the XY dash - heaps less hassles. Even the stock one looks good IMHO. Having said that, I have seen very good conversions using XD or ZJ/ZK dashes. The main problem is width - everything from XA on is a bit wider than the old XY!

Re: Dash Change

XY dashes come up on ebay all the time for between $50 - $150 for a good used one - the GT / GS ones are a lot higher.

I picked a good one up at a swap meet for $35.00. Just be patient - one will come up soon
