I was stuffing around with the lights in the dash today. I put red silicon slips over all the bulbs except for the a/c lights. I was on my last light (cigarette lighter) when all the lights stopped working. everything was working fine until i mucked with the cigarette lighter and now none of the dash lights work. The bulb isnt blown cause it works fine when i run it from the battery. Any ideas? I felt like kicking the crap out of the thing.

Check the fuse dude. They are behind the panel in front of the drivers right knee

do you know which fuse controls the dash lights. How can i tell if its blown. I know that the wire is broken but is there anyother way they can blow?

There is a diagram on the back of the fuse box cover. Usually theres other things on the same circuit as well like clock or radio. If you cant work out which one it is pull em out 1 at a time and check em. They are blade fuses. in the centre theres a peice that goes across. if its bown it will be melted. Youll have some non blown fuses in there so its easy to tell

I did check most of the fuses when it happened...the only ones i didnt were the park lamps and something else. It turned out to be the parklamps that was stuffed go figure.. Going to pick one up now. Thanks for the help

let me know how it all turns out. I have been thinking of doing the same thing and I would like to know if it is a simple case of colouring the bulbs to give that european sports look or do you have to buy those replacement instrument covers.

Ill post a pic when it gets dark enough. In my opinion it looks mad. All i did was bye the silicon covers from autobahn for $2.95 (pack of 5) be warned i couldnt do the air conditioning ones cause they were a different size bulb, goes for the cigarette lighter as well. Has anyone changed the colour of the light from the rear demister button. Couldnt figure out how to get at the light.

You've got to pull the demister completely out of the car then dissamsemble the demister switch completely. Putting it back together can be a bit of pain if you don't see how it comes undone, and usually the first time you take it apart it just falls too bits.
