dash lights colour

Does anybody have any recommendations on paint for lightbulbs?
The way I see it, the easiest way to change the colours of the display is to paint the bulbs, but I know nothing about paint - will regular paint work, or will it just burn off?

You are far better off just buying silicon sleeves from autobarn. I think it is 3.95 for a pack of 5. Just slide them over your bulbs. I got some red ones and they look pretty sleek. You probably get a better light than if you painted them as well. You could try LED's but personally I found the sleeves much easier to install, I tried LED's but after blowing 3 fuses I gave up.

The sleeves are good - for a while. The colour fades after some time - eg I have green sleeves on my parkers and they are now nearly white.

Paint is an option, but you need to put it on just right. Any paint will do - I used fluoro green for some of my dash lights. I just dipped the bulb in the paint and then let them frip. Once they stopped dripping I hung it up for 1/2 a day to dry. These bulbs have actually gone a slightly darker colour over time (i guess the paint has burnt a bit).

you can buy wedge led bulbs, or coloured bulbs.

led wedge bulbs are VERY hard to find and cost up to $40 a pair.

coloured bulbs are about $9-12 a pair from auto one, american autospares and most asian car shops. do NOT pay more then $12 or your gettin ripped :)

you had blown fuses with LED's?!? they draw WAY less current than a bulb, you must have connected them up wrong or had something shorting out. I replaced the wedge bulbs with a resistor and a LED in the original holder, you have to take them apart and solder it tohether, but if done properly, you will never have to replace them again.
