A while back the clutch adjuster nut was pulled through the firewall and I had my mechanic weld in a reinforcement which required pulling the dash out. Ever since I have had a rattle on the drivers side coming from the lower dash which mainly occurs at low rpm when slowing down or after downchanging while letting the clutch out. It sounds almost 'hollow' i think it could be the heater vent or something? Any ideas on what is actually making the noise as it is starting to drive me crazy. It is a very distinctive 'hollow' rattle not like a normal dash rattle.
