Dash.trip.climate control not bright enough to read.

Hey all, the lights (dash the trip computer and climate control dont light up (KPH, km travelled etc and the picture of the car with the doors opened/closed) on my dash will not light up. I checked the globes and they are fine...what is the problem?!?!? They semi light up, but just not fullly enough for you to see them properly.

i had it working for about 5 mins, butwhen i put the dash in properly (ie screwed it in) i bumped the brightness dropped to the point you couldn read anything again...i mean all the info is there its just not bright enough to read it properly

is there an earth or something back there that could be loose, and if so where is it?

On the XF's there were switches for the interior light, it was a 2 stage unit and when you have it half way, it dims all the dash lights. I have to keep poking mine to get it to work sometimes.

Don't know if this is any help?

Not sure but what about the swivel switch next to the turny switch for the headlights? Tried that one? Example below in a later E-series. One day I wanted to see what it does and it dims and brightens the whole dash lighting.

Pic is from Full Noises gallery. Sorry for not asking but it was the best available!

Yeah am not sure about on the EB's but mine is next to the headlight switch and you just hold it up (instead of turning it on - two stage switch) and the lights get brighter.

Hehe, good stuff! Glad to hear that you found the problem. If it stuff up again try sourcing another climate cable then.
