Re: Dash.trip.climate control not bright enough to read.

ok it stuffed up again!!!!

It seems to be in he climate control module. I pulled that apart and there is voltage of roughly 6 ish vilt across the bulb terminal. (should be 12v i guess as all the other bults are that) when the bulb is put in, it all goes dim, when the bulb is removed it all works fine (except the climate control as there is no buld in it). so yeah, will try wiring the bulb in climate in parallel with the clock and see what happens....

Re: Dash.trip.climate control not bright enough to read.

Ok I worked out what it is.....Fricken bad connection from the loom to the green control box thing. Bent some of the pins at an angle and hey presto it worked. Looks likes the control box aint original as it has a lot number and 'EB falcon' handwritten on it, so the previous owner must have had a problem with it, and when reinstalling it damaged the pins so a complete connection was not made, which led to the dimming.

oh and the reason why when i jiggled the climate control cable it worked is because it was pulling on the control box loom, thus making a better connection.

I hate cars.

Re: Dash.trip.climate control not bright enough to read.

you have to remove the surrond on the instrument cluster...its 3 screws on the top and two screws that are hidden by the two little black/grey switch plates on either side of your steering wheel (you know where you antenna control is and where you bood and fuel release is). when you remove the surrond you will see four screw that undo the climate control unit, and one that is connected to the panel that the clock sits in. undo this. also, there is a screw in that cup shaped thing that sits next to the clock...its hidden up at angle so you will have to get eye level with it. the whole clock panel will come out. disconnect your wires and pop the clock out...easy.

hope this helps...let me know if you dont understand..
