Well once the driving lights are in this will be the next project, so if i can get the info on how to do it now it'll save time.

In the rear of the EF centre console, under the aircon vents, there is a space where on the LTD models they had a rear footwell courtesy light. I know it can be fitted to a normal EF, just a little unsure of where you hook it up etc.

As far as I know (please advise if i have missed a part), you need the bulb, the bulb holder, the 'lens' (clear plastic part that replaces plastic cover over the hole), and the wire (what type?) to run from the bulb holder, up to the dash where its wired up to the cigarette lighter light to get power.

Assuming all that's right, I need the info on:

*what kind of wire to use to connect the new light up to the old one to get power

*How to actually 'connect' the new wiring - is it just a matter of splicing it and joining it into the existing one?

I know the info on how to do this is on the fordmods site but it never works on my pc for some reason, so even if someone could just copy and paste their info here that'd be a big help.

i done the same mod to my EA. except i hooked up the 2 front courtsey lights and the one in the back of the console. from memory i got constant power from the radio and then i bridged a wire from one of the door switchs. it dosent matter which way the wires are on the bulb holder so long as one of them is constant and the other is the wire in the middle of the door switch. so when the door is open the wire that is connected to the switch will earth out on to the body making the circuit complete and the light will come on simple. i joined the wires by simply splicing and soldering i also used heat shrink to cover the wires. it lights up the interior very nicely. good luck.

If you've done the front footwell lights, I'd just borrow power from one of them (its what I did). Wire isn't anything exciting, at the low voltages / current draw pretty much anything will do. I think I used figure 8 speaker wire, simply since its easier to manage when its linked together.

Just splice it into the front cabling, and solder & HS or use spade/bullet sockes to connect the bulb holder leads in....

Your parts list looks fine. I doubt you'll have any probs with it at all...

yeah, thats where I got the idea from but I cant get into that site - every time I try it says page cannot be displayed, yes I am putting the right address in and yes Ive cleared the cache etc. I dont think my ISP likes it for some reason.
