THEONE - just remember no key access, dead battery, no getting in the car and opening the bonnet.
I removed all linkages to my door locks on my XF, and had remote entry only, but I also had a hidden cable under the front guard, that I could use to pop the bonnet if the worst happened and my battery went flat, just used a bike brake cable I had lying around, gave me piece of mind.

I know the problem you are talking about, I saw 2 eb's when i was looking for a car with the same thing, the little door where the key goes in is missing, but I have an EA so no practical advice, surely as you say its common and some one has fixed the prob sometime.

Chrispy, I have the exact same problem on one of my doors - too lazy to do anything about it! You could probably get the little bits that are missing from a wrecker. I haven't actually looked that closely to see what is missing/wrecked. I plan on getting door handles from an EL anyway... Tell us how you go.
