I have a Ford Probe and recently the passenger door wont open from the inside anymore. Its not something I want to pay to repair because I dont know how long I plan on keeping the car, but it is annoying. So if theres a fairly simple repair, that would be great. The handle doesnt seem to latch on to whatever opens the door. The locks are automatic, if that matters.

Because you can open the door from the outside id assume its not a locking problem. But a mechanical error.

Im not sure what procedure is involved with getting your door trim off.. but figure that out, and pull it off so you can get your hand inside the door frame.

Then simply go to the door catch, and you should find that one of the metal connecting rods from the catch that usually goes to the inside door handle has fallen off. Its simply a matter of re-connecting it.

Sometimes this can take a bit of friggin' around, but you'll get it eventually.

The passenger door doesn't have a child lock does it ?
You know one of those little levers on the side of the door that you can set into the free or locked position when the door is open.

I think child locks are only on back doors.. i could be wrong though

No, theres no child lock.

That is correct on a 4 door sedan, not sure about the 2 door coupes, if they have them on the passenger door ???

Looks like in this case they do not have them..
