Doors not locking

I have a eb series 1 and the doors don't lock.
What happens is you go to lock it and the lock buttons go down then come back up. Whats the problem?

Re: Doors not locking

something could be blocking one of the locks, stopping all from closing?

Re: Doors not locking

check all the tibbe locks and you will see one that sits higher or lower than all the rest.. Take that trim off and make sure nothing is fouling the armature

Re: Doors not locking

Alternativley, you may have pushed one of the buttons down so it sits lower than the rest.
If the button is to low the lock cant go down far enough, so it will come back up.

Re: Doors not locking

If it has just happened out of the blue, for no reason, and you changed nothing, then thats what happened in my EA Ghia, I am yet to solve the problem, maybe by the end of the week I will have it sorted, I think I have a negative short on the wire to cause the locks to goto unlock for some reason, but yet to confirm.

Re: Doors not locking

Still no luck Dellboy???

xr8eb, try using your keys to lock the front passenger door from the outside, see if they stay down then. Usually the front passenger side motor is the first to go. If they do stay down, take the skin off and check the motor, it may need replacing.

Re: Doors not locking

Had the same problem with my EB XR8 and I think from memory it had something to do with the actual latch on the door.Has been a fair while since I had this car so cant recall 100%

Re: Doors not locking

I fixed an ed at work last week with the same problem, it had a faulty rear actuator, if you unplug one actuator at a time you will find the culprit.
But dont disconnect the driver actuator as it gives all the others the signal..
