Anyone out there know of a company that rebuilds and exchanges power windows. I was told Electric Window Company but I am unable to find them listed anywhere in Sydney. Sure hope someone knows something.

Ahhhhh, I am assuming that your power windows have had a crap ??????

Ummmm I dunno of any places that can fix em, but if it helps, the EA-EL Power Window winders are all the same, and will fit each model.

You can get the whole power window winder assembly from wreckers for around $70-$100.

Ford Genuine sells em for round $200.

The EF/EL Winders are non servicable. (I.E. the motor is sealed, and riveted in to place.)

To replace the Winder will take you round 1/2 a day.
The hardest part is removing the Rivets, that hold the winder in place.

If it helps, there is a doco written on adding power windows to an EF/EL. As I said though, the Mechanism is exactly the same, its just the Switch gear, connectors, and Trims that differ between the models

Thanks for replying. I have been told by a Ford replacement parts company (Coventry Campelltown) that there is a company out there that does rebuild them. So I am hoping someone may have come across them. Ford should be r**ted for ripping off people. Bloody extortion having to buy the whole unit when it is only something worth about $10 that is worn out.

Thanks again for the info on "Electric Life" I have allready made contact with them. They only have complete new assemblies for $180 and will fit them for $40. Ford want $240 for the same unit Coventry Auto Spares want $153 or to use Matti's system it is $53 for the window assembly.

So I am going to use Matti's set up for one of my windows this weekend. Oh and by the way for genuine Ford spares Coventry Spares are 25% to 40% cheaper than anywhere else I have tried.
