hi guys
just qot a quick question. i was wondering if anyone has had problems with, or knows about the temperature gauge in an EA Falcon. every now and then, and more often recently, it will just climb all the way up into the red zone, and sometimes a bit past. then it just sits of a second, and falls back down again. i keep topping up the water, and it happens even in the middle of the night under normal driving.
if anyone knows anything, and could help me out, i would be very greatful!

yeah happens in my car i think its the thermostat if ur really worried about it get it changed shouldnt cost alot

Either a sticking thermostat or using a single action thermostat rather than the required dual action thermostat with the poppet valve on the bottom. Fix it before the head gasket blows as it will eventually if left unattended,
