Hi,
I just bought an EA Fairmont Ghia in pretty good nick, I spent the weekend putting in my stereo system, just a Kenwood deck, with 10 stack CD player and Kenwood splits in the front, and Pioneer 6x9 4 ways in the rear.
Problem is I killed my battery doing the testing and setup (I dont think it was all that good to start with). So I bought a new battery, ripped out the old one, put in some gold plated battery terminals while I was at it, but NOW the trip computer needs the clock/date set, and I dont have a damn clue how.
Please help!!
- Turn ignition switch on.
- Press Clock button and hold.
- Press Reset button.
- Release Clock and Reset buttons together (hours flash).
- Press Search button untill correct hours and am or pm are displayed and release.
- Press Clock button (minutes flash).
- Press Search button until correct minutes are displayed and release (seconds will zero at release)
- Press Clock button (year flashes).
- Press Search untill the correct year is displayed and release.
- Press Clock button (month flashes).
- Press Search untill the correct month is displayed and release.
- Press Clock button (date flashes).
- Press Search untill the correct date is displayed and release.
- Press Clock button again to return to normal clock display mode (exit setting mode).
NOTE: the Trip computer isnt Y2K compliant, so you'll need to find a year that matches up so the date will display correctly.
Was easy, and not alot of fiddling, inside of 30 mins, I used Excel to make sure all the dates would line up correctly, hence I found the leap year problem, I worked within the limitations of years of the trip computer dates, and hey presto a list of dates.
2010 seemed far enough into the future.
