Re: Eb boot rattle with subs

Without wanting to state the obvious, how about trying to think of something to put between the frame and the skin to stop the rattle?

Foam, silastic, fabric, rubber, all kinds of things can be used, the rattle is the noise made by 2 hard surfaces vibrating against each other. Either that or you could investigate welding or joining the skin to the frame so it doesn't rattle any more.

Or get rid of da subz and hav a normul staireo like uvva normul peepul.

trace the frame with sikaflex, when it sets it will hold the lid tightly the frame

Re: Eb boot rattle with subs

get a tube of urethane and run it along where the boot frame and the boot lid meet
this is the number 1 cause of boot rattle.
another thing that rattles is the numberplate, on mine i put that double sided trim tape on there to hold the plate, no screws

Re: Eb boot rattle with subs

try to secure the number plate with 4 screws as most cars only have 2 in my lasers case i put electrical tape behnd the boot lid and the number plate as the car didn't have any holes for the other 2 screws and that works
i got 240W speakers in the parcel shelf of my car and it rattles like crazy to i keep saying im gonna fix it but forget about it
but back to the point id prolly put silicone around all the edges on the top of the boot lid and also make sure there aint a cable in the frame making the sound by virating in there

Re: Eb boot rattle with subs

I used silicon, it works very well, i also insulated the boot lid, them made a craftwood liner that has been covered in carpet, looks 100% better.
