EB Cluster

Just wondering, as the EB cluster has orange lettering, many people have suggested to me to paint the lettering white in order for coloured globes to have a propa effect. If I paint the lettering white, will the light still come through from the back? Or does the light come from somewhere else? eg. I have seen some lights at the top of the cluster.

Any suggestions or pics would be of great help.
Thanx!

Re: EB Cluster

I think there the same as the EA Clusters, which means that simply painting them white wont actually do anything as it will still be filtering through the orange first. I have been told that you can actually gently scrape away the orange paint stuff so that they become clear, then the lights will work properly.

The cluster is backlit, however the lights you see coming from the top of the cluster alow a small amount of light to shine onto the front of the cluster, all that it is, is perspects which act as a tunnel to tunnel some of the backlit light to the front. Pull out your cluster and you will see what i mean. they run from the back fo the cluster, accorss the top and then shine down.

If you dont want to stuff up your cluster, go to a wreckers and pick one up, mod that one and put your Odometre readings on it, and then just swap them over when you have it right.

Hope that helps.
