confused EBII Smart lock probs..????

hi
i just purchased a 1993 eb II about 2 weeks ago. within the first week the radiatior blew down the side "common prob" ive been told but now the smart lock system is playing up. i went and got a replacment keypad the other day and when i went to train it i realised the boot release button wont work (any one had this prob and is this connected to the smart lock) it was working fine up untill last week when i couldnt start my car and the smartlock LED stayed on when i got going. now some times the led flashes while driving or stays on any ideas? also how do u reset the computer?
thanks.
